Blessed

I’ve been blessed to have made it all the way from Selma to Memphis – safely. Thank you to everyone who prayed for my safety on this 400-mile walking journey. Your prayers helped me arrive safely to the National Civil Rights Museum yesterday just before noon. My final walk was about 5.6 miles to and from uptown.

Thank you also to Jo Ann Scott for her assistance with providing a community around me from Rust College to Memphis. And also to LeNiece and Larry Woods for their amazing support of me here in Memphis the last two days. I have so many people to thank that it will take time to share some their photos and stories.

Here’s a photo of the group that made the finale walking miles with me yesterday. It includes (L-R) Becky Suzuki, Jaimon Olmsted, LeNiece Woods, Ken, Karen King, Larry Woods, and Suzy Mahjoub. Jaimon is an Amherst High alum here in Memphis with Americorp. I was so happy his mother connected us.
