Prior to my visit to Harpers Ferry, I contacted the Storer College Alumni Association to arrange a meeting with someone familiar with school’s history and who grew up in Harpers Ferry. Shortly there afterwards the Alumni President, Mr. James Green, contacted to discuss my research project before connecting me with Ms. Delores Jackson Foster. A longtime resident of Harpers Ferry, Ms. Foster agreed to meet me at the gates of the college on the day of my arrival to share stories about the school and the community she grew up around.
