As I prepare to embark on my journey tomorrow to the Eastern Shore to commemorate the 169th anniversary of Harriet Tubman’s rescue of her family, a profile story on me, by Valerie Russ, was published on Christmas Eve in the Philadelphia Inquirer. Here’s a link to the story.

Just after the story’s deadline, I learned about two local women, who coincidentally are both principals in the Philadelphia School District, that are descendants of some of the families I will be discussing tomorrow on the walking tour. Both principals know each other but didn’t know their families come from the same soil on the Eastern Shore.
